Overview
Set high above the azure sea and dominated behind by the rock of Addaura and Monte Pellegrino Nature Reserve, Villa Addaura boasts spectacular 360 degree views that take in Capo Zafferano and the Aeolian Islands to the east to the white sandy beach and town of Mondello in the west. Relaxing by the beautiful pool, immersed in the lush Mediterranean vegetation of Monte Pellegrino, you can lazily watch the pleasure boats passing by far below, happy in the knowledge that the rest of the world is at a safe distance! Addaura is well positioned for a cultural holiday too, being on the doorstep of Palermo and within easy reach of the main arteries for visiting the west of Sicily.

The Area
Addaura is on the coast between Palermo and Mondello and is characterised by its steep cliffs affording fabulous views over the Tyrrhenian coast. Apart from its proximity to the sights of Palermo and the golden sand beach of Mondello (a lovely seaside town with a holiday atmosphere all year and some great restaurants), it also has easy access to the motorway and is therefore an excellent base for exploring western Sicily.
Places to visit within an hour or so of driving include the Greek sites of Segesta and Selinunte, the hilltop town of Erice, the Norman cathedrals of Monreale and Cefalu', the Roman town at Solunto and much more besides.
Palermo itself has far too many things to see to describe here, but things not to miss include the Norman Palace with its Palatine chapel, the Norman church of la Martorana, the fabulous markets of the Capo, Vucciria and Ballaro’, the Teatro Massimo opera house and of course the fashion shops of the via della Liberta’.

Think About
The house is accessed via a very steep asphalted road. In low season, for last minute bookings, you can ask us to take just one or two of the three self contained units at Addaura, depending on the size of your party. They are never let separately so privacy is guaranteed. The beach at Mondello is crowded in July and August, but we are pleased to offer our clients access to the TELIMAR, a private and exclusive sailing club by the sea, just 5 mins drive away.
