Overview
Ai Mulini, set in the picturesque rolling foothills of the Madonie Mountains National Park, is a farmhouse villa dating back to the early 1700s. The first thing you will notice are the stunning views that take in the valley below, the mountains behind and the ancient town of Polizzi Generosa up above.
The house itself, which has just been totally restored, is set in around 10,000m2 of land, some of which is given over to a delightful swimming pool and terraced areas. Peace and quiet abound and the views are mesmerising.
The Property
Inside: the house’s main entrance is on the 1st floor. Here there is a living area, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and two bathrooms. On the ground floor, accessed via the internal staircase, there is another living area, a large dining room with table seating up to 10, a twin bedroom, a bathroom and small, basic kitchen.
Outside: from the downstairs living area there is direct access to a partially covered panoramic terrace with dining area and a barbecue. It is a perfect spot for sipping on an aperitif as you watch the sun setting over the valley below. Some 20 metres from this terrace is the pool. In a small outhouse, attached to the main building is a utility room with washing machine.
The Area
Ai Mulini is a brief 10-minute drive from Polizzi Generosa, whose ancient streets are lined with churches dating back to the 12th and 13th Centuries, and a couple fo excellent restaurants. There is also a very good restaurant a couple of minutes walk form the house. Polizzi is a gateway to the Madonie Mountains which are home to numerous other lovely hill-top towns, including Petralia Soprana, Ganci, and Geraci amongst others.
For those interested in walking, Ai Mulini is an ideal base for excursions into the Madonie Mountains. There is a good network of marked paths and we will provide you with a good walking map.
Beaches on the north coast at Lascari and Cefalu' can be reached in 40-50 minutes.
A little further afield, day trips to Cefalu', Palermo, Monreale, Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, and even Mount Etna are quite feasible.
