Archimede is one of the most desirable apartments for rent in Siracusa. Just a short walk away is the Duomo, the main piazza and a myriad of charming streets lined with baroque palaces, shops, restaurants and bars. For anyone wishing to spend a few days exploring this fascinating town, Archimede is the perfect solution.

“Archimede is a great villa for exploring the island of Ortygia and Syracuse itself: the views from the rooftop were stunning and we spent many hours just looking out to sea watching the various fishing boat and ships or over towards Syracuse town and Etna beyond that... The villa itself was ideal for 2 people, clean and tidy.” James Meacock, UK, 2010

The Area

Exploring the local Area

Following the defeat of the Athenians in 413 BC Syracuse was arguably the most important city in the Mediterranean (and hence perhaps the world). Remains of that period are beautifully preserved in Ortygia, at Neapolis and in the fabulous archeological museum, all of which are within a few minutes walk or drive of Archimede. Syracuse is not just an Ancient Greek museum however. The old baroque island city of Ortygia offers a marvelous choice of restaurants, bars and shops in beautiful piazzas and on the sea front. Also within easy distance are white sandy beaches, towns such as Noto, Modica and Ragusa, Mount Etna, and much more.

"How did we enjoy our holiday? Fantastic. We have always received your brochure and despite the fact this was our third trip to Sicily this was our first trip with you. We sure as hell would use you again. Thanks"

James Meacock, United Kingdom, 26 June 2010

Siobhan Turner, United Kingdom, 24 October 2009
"The house was lovely, and had a real sense of warmth and welcome to it... The view from Archimede's terrace was spectacular - we could have spent most of our holiday there, although this would have been a shame as there was so much to see!"
