The surrounding vineyards hint at the villa's former role as a winery, while the citrus orchards, olive groves and views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna are a constant reminder of your whereabouts. The capacious communal areas of the main house are trumped only by the cellar with its heated indoor plunge pool!

About the Property


Inside: Badia comprises three guesthouses and the ground and lower ground floors of the main villa. Each guesthouses has a double bedroom, a living area, a bathroom and a kitchen. The larger one also has a single room. Inside the main villa is an absolutely enormous open-plan, wood-beamed living cum dining area complete with a drop-down home cinema screen and disco-quality hi-fi system. Off this is the small communal kitchen (in addition to the kitchens in each guesthouse). For larger groups in the main villa there are also a double and a single room that share a bathroom. Down below in the vaulted cellar, past the sauna and a guest bathroom is the really unique feature of the villa - the heated little pool with swimming pump!

Outside: each of the three guesthouses has its own panoramic private outside seating areas, though the focal point will undoubtedly be the stunning pool which has been created to blend in as naturally as possible with the surrounding areas. Al fresco dining areas jostle for preference, views abound and silence reigns, leaving Nature to get on with her busy schedule while you take it easy.

Whether you rent just one, two or the three "case", you will have exclusive use of the grounds, the indoor and outdoor pools and all facilities.

The extensive grounds of Badia have a few drops. For this reason, we recommend that younger children are supervised by an adult when exploring the property.


The Area

Exploring the local Area

Situated between the towns of Acireale and Riposto on the east coast of Sicily about half way between Catania and Taormina, Badia is a good base from which to visit Taormina, Catania, Mount Etna and the various fascinating villages on its flanks. There are also several charming fishing villages and some nice beaches nearby. An eighteen hole golf course is about 45 minutes drive away.

Further afield, Syracuse, the baroque towns of the Noto valley, the quiet beaches of Vendicari and Capo Passero to the south and Messina to the north are all comfortably reachable for day trips.

We can also arrange for you to over fly Mount Etna and many other sites, or to make excursions to the Aeolian Islands, by helicopter.

The nearby beaches of Fiumefreddo and Marina di Cottone have received several consecutive "Bandiere Blu", attesting to the cleanliness of the water and their general ecological excellence.
