“Belquis House is a gem. As I opened the double gates into a courtyard at the end of a narrow track, my first impression was of cushions – long, flat ones to lie on, squashy ones on benches carved from the smooth walls, and soft ones lying plumped in a white hammock strung between the arches of the terrace... as the sun was starting to slink behind the walls, I realised how perfectly peaceful it was...I could hear nothing... I padded around the house and garden, stopping to sniff the lemon blossom and take in the view of assorted hump-backed islands... Everything was beautiful.” Samantha Weinberg in The Guardian, 5th June 2010.

About the Property

Inside: four connecting rooms on one level. From left to right: an excellent kitchen with plenty of space and great equipment, a living room with comfortable sofas (which can be used for sleeping), concert HiFi and large fireplace, a stylish bedroom with double bed, and a bathroom with shower made from the original Aeolian oven. Kitchen, living room and bedroom have access through wide doors to the terrace. On a lower level with separate entrance is a smaller bedroom with a double bed and bathroom.

Outside: a short walk along a picturesque footpath from the parking area brings you to the gate. Inside is a walled terrace with an enticing mixture of stone benches, wooden furniture and hammocks, mulled by the soft tones of the house and the olive trees. Think About

A shopping service will bring heavy shopping direct to your door. The last 100m to the house are only possible on foot. We recommend you rent a scooter or bring a car with you on the ferry from Sicily.
Great walking opportunities on Filicudi and neighbouring islands.

The Area

Exploring the local Area

Filicudi is the larger of the two westerly Aeolian Islands, still unspoilt by tourism and far from being developed. There are three villages, offering a few restaurants, small shops, scooter, car and boat rental. There are no sandy beaches, but plenty of rocky coastal stretches and pebble beaches with wonderful swimming in crystal clear water.

Regular Hydrofoil and ferry services link Filicudi to the other Aeolian Islands.

Distances

Arrive by hydrofoil (from Palermo 2hr50 or Milazzo 2hr40), ferry or helicopter.
Nearest shops, restaurants and sea access: 5 minutes drive.
Salina 25mins by hydrofoil

Notes on bookings, options, enquiries and payment

Options: if you’ve identified a villa or two you’d like to book, but need a couple of days to canvas opinion or work out practicalities, we’ll be happy to place an option for you. This will temporarily block your chosen villa(s) and give you first refusal should anyone else wish to book them. The length we can hold options depends on the villa(s) and dates in question.

Prices and payment: we accept payment in EUR, GBP and USD using any major credit card and bank transfer.

More information about how we calculate our prices.

Booking: a 30% deposit (100% if 9 weeks or less before departure) will secure your booking.
