Overview
Borgo degli Aranci is a beautifully restored group of farmhouses set amongst a fragrant orange grove. Far reaching views take in the sea, mighty Etna and the Taormina hills to the north. As you make your way down the long drive past countless orange trees you will catch your first glimpse of the soft tones of Borgo degli Aranci's sun-bleached walls. On arrival your focus will turn to the immaculate lawns and the inviting pool.....there is no doubt: this is a special place.
Although there are three buildings, making it excellent for large parties, we only rent it for exclusive use, so you will never share pool or grounds with other guests.
The Property
Inside: “Cedro” (sleeps 10) – on the ground floor are a large living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom and single bedroom. Upstairs are three doubles, one twin and one single all sharing two bathrooms. “Mandarino” (sleeps 4) – set on one floor with a living/dining room, a kitchen, one twin, one double and a bathroom. “Pompelmo" (sleeps 4) - on the ground floor is a dining/living area, kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs is one mezzanine bedroom (open), a second bathroom and another bedroom.
Outside: the borgo is reached by a long track running through the orange groves and boasts fabulous views in all directions. The large and subtly designed pool fits well with the terracing and the buildings. There are plenty of shaded areas for outdoor dining and relaxing whilst enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside and the sea.
The Area
Situated near the town of Fiumefreddo on the east coast of Sicily about half way between Catania and Taormina, Borgo degli Aranci is a good base from which to visit Taormina, Catania, Mount Etna and the various fascinating villages on its flanks. There are also several charming fishing villages and some nice beaches nearby. An eighteen-hole golf course is about 40 minutes drive away.
Further afield, Syracuse, the baroque towns of the Noto valley, the quiet beaches of Vendicari and Capo Passero to the south and Messina to the north are all comfortably reachable for day trips.
We can also arrange for you to over fly Mount Etna and many other sites, or to make excursions to the the Aeolian Islands, by helicopter.

Think About
Daily maid service and cook available on request. The charming, discreet and helpful owners occupy a fourth property on the estate which has its own private access. The use of the gardens and swimming pool remain exclusive to guests. A motorway running several hundred metres behind the house does not impair the fabullous view, but may be audible if the wind is blowing out to sea. In our opinion, and in those of the dozens of clients that have stayed here, it does not disturb.
