Overview
Your first impression of Casale Castelluzzo, a restored rustic farmhouse, will be one of flourishing flora and Mediterranean fragrances. Bougainvillea jostles with jasmine, olive trees waft gently in the warm sea breezes and colourful flowers punctuate the whole, whetting your appetite for a relaxing siesta in a soon-to-be-discovered favourite corner of the garden or lounging by the pool. A stay in this wonderful home will certainly help to recharge your batteries and you will leave with memories of long lunches on the cool shady terrace and dinners accompanied by an orchestra of crickets.
The Property
Inside: the house is entered from the delightful covered terrace. A well-equipped kitchen leads past a bathroom with shower to a dining area which opens onto the garden. Further on is a spacious living area with several sofas and a fireplace. A staircase leads from the dining area to the first floor where there are three double bedrooms, a bathroom and a comfortable sitting area. The house is furnished comfortably throughout and retains many fascinating touches that hark back to its former agricultural life.
Outside: the kitchen leads directly onto a large covered terrace area with dining table that comfortably accommodates ten. To the left of this is another al fresco dining area situated next to a barbecue. From here the gardens fan outwards offering several other shady seating areas amongst the olive groves and a refreshing pool. While the interior will provide welcome respite from the hottest hours of the day, the gardens and pool will be your natural habitat at all other times!
The Area
In the north-west of Sicily, the village of Castelluzzo is just a stone's throw away from San Vito Lo Capo with its numerous restaurants and arguably the finest beach in Sicily. Lo Zingaro natural park with its enchanting bays, coves and crystalline waters, is also just a short drive away. The Mediaeval hill-top town of Erice overlooks the whole area and wonderful excursions can be made to the Egadi Islands just off Trapani. Gastronomically speaking the local speciality, fish cous cous, is paid tribute to in the last week of September at the International Cous Cous Fest in San Vito.

Think About
Casale Castelluzzo is in a street just off the main thoroughfare of Castelluzzo, which has a few shops and a couple of trattorie. The closest beach is 5 minutes' drive away. There is a house owned by a third party close to the pool, and although the pool is not visible guests may hear voices when it is occupied.
