Overview
"A superb property and lovely owner. We couldn't have been more comfortable"....the words of one satisfied client which echo the general feedback we receive for Conca D'Oro. With its beautiful pool and stunning views over Palermo, Villa Conca d’Oro is perfectly suited as a high quality base for exploring Palermo, Monreale and the north and west of Sicily. Alternatively, you could just relax on the lawn beside the pool while ordinary mortals in the city down below go about their busy daily life. The house itself is decorated and furnished in exceptional style, with some superb paintings, silverware and other historical artifacts that have been passed down through the generations of this remarkable family. The owner's sense of hospitality is second to none and you will feel very well looked after. (Oh, and she cooks like a dream!)
The Property
Inside: the villa is set on two floors and is richly decorated throughout. The ground floor has a reception room, a large kitchen, a dining room and a drawing room. Upstairs is a stunning master double bedroom with large en-suite bathroom, one en-suite double, one double, one twin and two bathrooms. Also on the first floor is a bright living room with fabulous views and a piano. All living rooms are richly decorated with antique furniture and ornaments.
Outside: the large pool with its stunning panorama is surrounded by lawns and shady seating and dining areas. You might be able to see Palermo in all its magnificence (you're only a few km away as the crow flies), but you certainly won't hear anything. The garden continues onto several levels behind the house and is planted with a wide variety of Mediterranean flowers, trees and shrubs.
The Area
Set high above Palermo and the Conca D'oro, this spectacular villa is an ideal spot from which to explore Palermo, the north coast and the central Western part of Sicily. Monreale, Cefalu', Segesta, Selinunte and Erice are all within easy reach.
Monreale is home to the most spectacular example of the fusion of Norman, Arab and Byzantine architecture to come out of the 12th century. Cefalu' is not far behind Monreale, Segesta and Selinunte are two of the most important Ancient Greek sites in Sicily. Erice has been inhabited continuously for over two and a half thousand years.
Palermo is home to some beautiful Norman, Spanish and "Liberty" architecture and Mondello has one of Sicily's finest white sand beaches.
