Cubo al Mare - villa in Sicily on the sea

Inside: accommodation at Cubo al Mare is on two floors. The ground floor is one extremely large and light open-plan kitchen-diner and living room. Huge floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors ensure that the Sicilian sun you’ve been craving all winter floods in and capacious comfy sofas and armchairs are strategically positioned to make the most of the stunning views. There is also a fireplace and, just off the main room, a bathroom with shower. A sensuously curvaceous flight of stairs leads to the first floor, which is home to two large suites with luxurious bathrooms and a slightly smaller third double bedroom, which uses the downstairs bathroom. All bedrooms boast such wonderful sea views that waking up in the morning is a real event! A second flight of stairs leads from the first floor up to the roof terrace. Lightly-coloured parquet floors and pure white walls run throughout the house, creating a pleasing and essential uniformity of style. The bathrooms are beautifully designed with glass walk-in showers, modern white suites and cool grey walls.

Outside: Cubo al Mare sits in around 10,000m2 of lawned gardens dotted with palm trees and other Mediterranean plants. The main entrance to the house is via a large decked sea-view terrace, which is furnished both for dining and relaxing. Large umbrellas offer shade for those who require a little respite from the sun and, with all the house's large glass sliding doors open, the terrace becomes a natural extension of the indoor living areas. If you thought the views from garden level or the first floor were pretty much unbeatable, head up to the roof terrace, from where 360-degree panoramas stretch out for miles and miles... Once up there, you might not want to come down... and for this reason comfy chairs have been supplied!
