Overview
Nestled in the lower foothills of the Madonie Mountains overlooking Cefalù, Il Borghetto is an excellent holiday villa with a little bit of everything for everyone! The views are wonderful, the terraced grounds and lawns a delight while the beautifully situated pool is hard to fault! The Madonie Mountains offer great walking and beautiful villages to explore, while the sandy beaches, restaurants and cafe' life of Cefalù, just 15 minutes away, ensure the best of all worlds. Whether you book just the main house, or add one or two of the converted barns, the entire property will always be exclusively yours!
The Property
Inside: the property consists of four the main villa, two converted barns and a private chapel. On the ground floor of the main villa is a comfortably furnished living/dining room with an open fireplace, a kitchen and independent guest bathroom. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (one of which is accessed via a single room), two bathrooms and a laundry room. The bedrooms have wonderful sea views that also take in the ground, and the Rocca of Cefalu'. The two barn conversions each have a large open plan living areas with double/twin beds (for groups of up to 13 people), a bathroom and a kitchen on the ground floor and a double bed on an open mezzanine.
Outside: the whole borghetto (literally a "hamlet") is spectacularly sited on terraced farmland on the lower slopes of the Madonie Mountains. There are plenty of sunny and shaded terrace areas for outside living and dining. The beautiful pool is situated a couple of terrace levels below the house and is securely gated from the main terrace area. The buildings themselves are beautifully proportioned and in perfect harmony with their surroundings, while the addition of a lovingly restored chapel makes a charming addition to an already perfect setting.
The Area
Nestled on the flanks of the the Madonie Mountains Il Borghetto is a perfect way to mix mountains and sea. It’s an ideal base for exploring, on foot or by car, the mountainous nature reserve and the many towns and villages that it contains.
Just fifteen minutes drive down the hill is Cefalu', with its spectacularly sited Norman cathedral, medieval town centre and sandy beach. Cefalù also offers a good and varied selection of restaurants and bars.
The motorway gives you easy access to Palermo, Monreale and the Roman remains at Solunto. Slightly further afield, the Ancient Greek remains at Segesta, Selinunte and The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento are well worth the journey.

Smaller parties may take the main house on its own outside the peak season, whilst its location and style make us think that Il Borghetto will be a great favourite for family groups of up to 13 people.
