About the Property


Inside: a corridor leads from a rear terrace into the wide, spacious living room featuring a series of French windows leading out onto a fully-furnished, covered terrace. Connecting to the living area is the light, airy dining room and kitchen. Towards the other end of the house a twin room and a double bedroom, with one en-suite and one adjacent bathrooms. An independently accessed dependence with living area, double bedroom with adjacent bathroom is attached to the house and is perfect for members of your group seeking a little privacy. On a mezzanine above the dependence's living area is a small twin bedroom with adjacent bathroom, suitable for younger members of your group. The furnishing throughout is simply elegant with extensive use of light colours that give a feeling of cleanliness and coolness that is so important in a summer house. A lower level of the house accesses two large terraces and contains changing rooms and showers for those re-entering after a hard day’s swimming and sunbathing!

Outside: a luxuriant, perfumed Mediterranean garden featuring numerous varieties of palms, yuccas, cactuses, bougainvillea and jasmine surrounds Villa L’Olivastro, giving way to large expanses of inviting terracotta-paved terraces that are perfect for soaking up the sun during the day and dining al fresco by night. Just 20 metres away lies the sea! A pool on the lowest, sea-facing terraced makes this villa truly complete.

Think About

For practical reasons - lots of stairs and some drops - we don't recommend this villa for young children. The small mezzanine twin room in the dependence is under a sloping roof and is suitable for more independent children / adolescents rather than adults.


The Area

Exploring the local Area

Fontane Bianche is just a few kilometres south of Syracuse and its white sandy beach has made it a popular resort for the well to do of that prosperous and historical town.

Ideally placed as a base to visit the south east of Sicily, the villa is about fifteen minutes from Siracusa and Noto, an hour from Ragusa or Catania and and hour and a half from Taormina or Mount Etna.

For those in search of the outdoors, there is some good walking in the nature reserves of Cassibile and Pantalica and some wonderful deserted beaches at Capo Passero and the Vendicari Nature Reserve (where you may also see migrating flamingos or even turtles).

"It was outstanding. Particularly the access to the sea. The areas of shade outside and the perfect accommodation inside made it our favourite villa yet. The bed was very comfortable.The maid service was excellent and completely unobtrusive and we did not see the gardener or the pool man at all, but I think the latter visits very early. The owner was there to greet us and showed us how to work everything and then left us alone. "
