“We were very happy with La Corte - it matched the photos and we found the villa very quiet... we appreciated its location is its proximity to the beach and town, the views and the lack of noise; plus you really get feel the atmosphere of the old town and living amongst the locals.” Simon Parker, UK, June 2010

About the Property

Inside: the main gate leads from the street into a flower-filled courtyard. Up some steps and through the front door and you’re in the airy, spacious dining area which leads either to the large, fully-equipped kitchen or directly onto the charming, seductive garden terrace. The kitchen also has direct access onto the garden. Back in the dining room, a flight of stairs lead to the first floor which is focused around the large comfortably furnished living area, complete with leather sofas and open fireplace. Off the living area is the master bedroom, with its en-suite bathroom (with bath) and two other bedrooms, a twin/double and a double, sharing a bathroom (with shower). The views from the front of the house take in the picture-postcard town of Cefalu and the Tyrrhenian Sea, while those from the sides look over the garden terrace and “La Rocca”, the monolithic rock that dominates the town. The house is decorated and furnished throughout with great taste.

Outside: much of your time will probably be spent in the spacious garden terrace which, thanks to its generous size, its colourful flora and its shady dining area, is a delightful place to relax. A barbecue and a wood-burning pizza oven mean that the warm summer evening air will be suffused with delicious, mouth-watering fragrances and an atmosphere of pure hedonistic conviviality!

Think About

La Corte is ideal for those who do not wish to hire a car as everything you could possibly need is within easy walking distance. There is no parking near the house - guests usually park down by the sea-front where, in the summer, it is necessary to pay. There are a lot of steps to get to the house so we do not recommend it for anyone with mobility problems. Short stays of minimum 4 nights are possible.

The Area

Exploring the local Area

The house is in the old centre of Cefalù with its Norman Cathedral commissioned by Roger II, shops, restaurants and long sandy beach. Its central position on the Tyrrhenian coast makes for easy day trips to Palermo (58km), Santo Stefano (35km), Solunto (55km). Cefalù is nestled beneath the Madonie Mountains, with peaks up to nearly 2,000m and a wealth of small villages with a history almost as long as that of Sicily.

Cefalù is on the main train line linking Palermo with Messina, and from mid June to mid September is connected with the Aeolian Islands by a daily hydrofoil service.

La Corte - Townhouse in Cefalu'

Nick Hatton, UK, 21 August 2011
"The setting, grounds and views were first class, sunset from the courtyard has to be seen to be believed. Ideal position, nestled between La Rocca and the Cathedral, 10 minutes from either the sandy or rocky beaches. As the brochure says you do get a real sense of how the Sicilians live... We had a great time. Weather was stunning. Cefalu was a perfect location for a week's holiday. Strolling through the narrow streets before dinner was a joy."

Paul Rickard, United States, 26 June 2010
"Everything ran smoothly... we loved Sicily and our vacation there."

Simon Parker, United Kingdom, 13 June 2010
"The owner - Julianne was excellent - very friendly and helpful... we were very happy with La Corte - it matched the photos and we found the villa very quiet. The benefit of the villa's tucked away location is its proximity to the beach and town, the views and the lack of noise; plus you really get feel the atmosphere of the old town an living amongst the locals."
