Overview
Set in its own park close to the historic town of Marsala, and some excellent beaches, La Favorita is a full-serviced haven of tranquility, providing an excellent level of accommodation and pampering for up to 12 guests. The accent is clearly on style, authenticity and respect for the considerable history of the house in its context, and the result is truly stunning. The staff provide the sort of service that thinkSicily clients would prefer to take home with them! All this blends seamlessly with the addition of modern comforts such as air conditioning and a heated pool. La Favorita is easily accessible from both Palermo and Trapani airports.
The Property
Inside: the main entrance takes you into a hallway, off which a lounge area with TV leads to a reading room. Via a billiard room, one accesses a double bedroom and bathroom, the large living area, the spacious dining room and the kitchen (complete with cook!). A staircase leads to the first floor and the main sleeping quarters: four spacious, comfortable double bedrooms (three of which with en-suite bathrooms), a “children’s bedroom" with 2 single beds and a bathroom. Two of the double bedrooms access the rear terrace with views of the sea, the Egadi Islands and Erice.
Outside: the villa sits on a large expanse of beautifully tended private parkland. Lawns alternate with avenues of palms, olive and citrus groves and manicured Mediterranean shrubs to create an extremely pleasant environment in all seasons. The stunning heated pool makes for comfortable bathing even in the lower seasons.
Service: La Favorita is a fully-serviced villa with cook, maid and houseman all ready to take care of you from Monday to Saturday. For meals, just let the staff know day by day whether you require lunch and/or dinner, choose from the menus on offer or tell them of any preferences you may have. They will organise the rest. Food, shopping service and drink bills are paid locally, giving you complete flexibility to experience the best and freshest local produce.
The Area
La Favorita is superbly situated for exploring the most beautiful parts of Western Sicily. Marsala, just a few minutes away, is most commonly known for its fortified wines (to which there is far more than is commonly thought), invented for export by English traders in the 18th century. It was also the starting point from which Garibaldi launched his attack on the Bourbons to ignite a revolution that was to create the nation of Italy. It now boasts a beautifully restored centre with some great restaurants and bars and some excellent beaches. Also very close by is the Phoenician island of Mozia, Erice, Trapani, the superb Greek temples at Selinunte, the wonderful beaches of the south coast and, last but not least, the Egadi Islands.

Being set in its own large private estate, La Favorita guarantees privacy and peace and quiet while at the same time being just a couple of minutes from local amenities and 10 minutes from the lovely old town centre of Marsala. Heating costs are not included in the rental price, but paid locally on consumption according to meter readings.
