La Limonaia - villa with pool between Etna and the sea

Inside: accommodation at La Limonaia is arranged over two floors and could be considered as two self-contained apartments. The main feature of the first floor (apart from the fabulous views of Mount Etna and the sea!) is the large open concept living-cum-dining area. Traditional elements, such as the terracotta-tile floor and the ceramic tiled wall, blend with more modern design elements such as the high, wicker-covered vaulted ceilings and a contemporary hanging fireplace. To one end are some comfortable sofas and stylish armchairs, to the other the large dining table. A series of French windows lead out onto the first floor terraces. Just off the living-dining areas is the well-equipped kitchen and a series of panoramic rooms: a double with direct access to one of the terraces, a single bedroom and a music room and study that also has a single sofa bed. Two shared bathrooms complete the accommodation on the first floor. The ground floor is home to two double en-suite bedrooms and a kitchen diner with a couple of sofas. All these rooms have direct access to the lovely covered terrace with wonderful vaulted ceilings. The last bedroom, a double with en-suite bathroom, is accessed directly from the garden and pool area and has its own sheltered terrace with breakfast table.

Outside: the first floor of La Limonaia is blessed with two large terraces, one with magnificent views of Mount Etna, the other with views over the pool and the sea a couple of km away. Down below a large covered terrace, an excellent spot for meals, leads to the lovely lawned gardens and pool, separated from the house by a row of venerable old olive trees.
