Overview
With its stylish design, large terraces, sweeping views of the Ionian coasts of Sicily and Calabria and easy access on foot to the beach and a selection of bars, restaurants and shops, La Pergola is a villa in Taormina that offers what many of our clients regard as the ideal ingredients for a holiday. The house is set on one of the most sought after pieces of coastline in Sicily and the cable car to the centre of Taormina is just a couple of minutes walk away. La Pergola is a bright, comfortable, well-fitted apartment which has been designed to take full advantage of its location and its breathtaking views.
The Property
Inside: 20 steps up from the front door lead to the first floor with its large, bright hallway opening onto a long terrace. On this floor are a twin bedroom with access to the terrace and an adjacent bathroom with shower, a double with access to the terrace, and a twin with a window to the rear of the house. The latter two bedrooms share a bathroom with tub. The twin beds may be made up as doubles. The second floor is home to the dining room complete with panoramic window, the kitchen and a sitting room leading out onto the upper terrace.
Outside: both terraces offer splendid views of the bay of Mazzaro and the coastlines of Sicily and Calabria. They get the morning sun all year round and are sheltered enough to relax in a T-shirt even in mid-winter. The beach is reached via a few steps from the rear of the house, and offers a wonderful beach-front restaurant. The cable car to Taormina is about 300m away.
The Area
Taormina is one of the most sought after areas in Sicily, and it is easy to understand why. The combination of being on the beach, and at the same time within walking distance (with the help of the cable car) of the centre of Taormina suits many of our clients very well. This area of Sicily has much to offer besides Taormina and the beaches. Apart from the huge attraction of Mount Etna, try visiting some of the lesser known towns and villages on its flanks. You will be in for some pleasant surprises.

Shops, restaurants and beach-front hotel bars are easily accessible on foot. All in all, this is one of our most sought after villas in Taormina. There is no private parking, but there are usually spaces available at the cable car car park for a small daily fee.
