Overview
This Mediterranean style top floor summer apartment is on the upper level of a larger property (above Casa Levante) but is completely independent with its own access to the sea. Decorated throughout in ‘acqua’, the whites and blues inside the property extend out onto the terraces towards the bright waters of the bay, seen from almost every window. Looking eastwards the sandy beach opens and follows the coast to the pretty Norman fishing village of Cefalù, the towers of the famous cathedral rising from the hill. Easy access to Palermo and a short drive away from Cefalù, this property is ideally situated with direct access to the sandy bay (shared with a handful of nearby villas). For larger groups this apartment can be booked together with Maestrale and Casa Levante, the middle and lower apartments of the property, making the total guest number 14. See also La Rosa dei Venti
The Property
Inside: The apartment is entered by a set of steps leading up from the side of the main house and onto a blue terrace. A very comfortable apartment with open plan living area and kitchen (quite small but well equipped). There is one double and one twin bedroom (sharing a large, sheltered sea-facing terrace), one single bedroom, next to the bathroom and a second terrace, again with extensive sea views. Radiators and air conditioning units are fitted throughout; perfect for an intimate holiday or a small group.
Outside: The three outdoor terraces, one outside the main entrance and two facing the sea offer a perfect outdoor living experience, whether it be dining, with a small portable BBQ, sunbathing, or sipping a cool aperitivo, where the sea views will keep you transfixed…
The Area
The house is 10 min drive from the old centre of Cefalu' with its Norman Cathedral commissioned by Roger II, shops, restaurants and long sandy beach. Its central position on the Tyrrhenian coast makes for easy day trips to Palermo (58km), Santo Stefano (35km), Solunto (55km). Cefalù is nestled beneath the Madonie Mountains, with peaks up to nearly 2,000m and a wealth of small villages with a history almost as long as that of Sicily.
Cefalù is on the main train line linking Palermo with Messina, and from mid June to mid September is connected with the Aeolian Islands by a daily hydrofoil service.

Think About
The property has its own access steps leading down to the main beach gate. Another handful of villas also have access to the beach from their own gates and in August it can get quite crowded.
From mid-June to mid-September, Maestrale and Levante ( the lower “apartments”) are occupied by the charming owners. During this period, from 15/6 to 15/9 2010, we are offering this property ONLY to individual couples.
The property offers parking on the grounds within the gates and may well be shared with clients renting the lower apartment "Casa Levante" (separate independent unit) and the owners, who (outside mid-June to mid-September) occasionally visit the main house during the day but rarely stay overnight.
As not all the outdoor steps and terraces have secure railings, the owner prefers not to accept children under the age of 12.
