Overview
Orata, a stylish seaside apartment, is situated on probably the most sought-after part of Sicily’s coastline: the delightful bay of Isola Bella below Taormina. Bright, airy, light and comfortably furnished, Orata is just a hop from the pebbly beach, a skip from a selection of restaurants and a jump from the cable car that takes you up to Taormina – ideally placed for everything!
The Property
Inside: the main entrance takes you directly into a living-cum-dining area, furnished with quality sofas, a dining table and a plasma TV with satellite. The large window offers wonderful views over Isola Bella and its beach while the scrupulously white walls, dotted with elegant, colourful ceramic plates and black and white photos, lend a chic cheerfulness to the ambience. The living area communicates with the double bedroom (with sea view), the bathroom with its fantastic double shower, and a well-equipped kitchen.
Outside: Orata is on the first floor of an apartment building and is accessed via an internal staircase shared with just one other flat. Outside the front door is a balcony which is perfect for having an aperitif after a hard day on the beach.
The Area
Isola Bella is one of the most sought after areas in Sicily, and it is easy to understand why. The combination of being on the beach, and at the same time within walking distance (with the help of the cable car) of the centre of Taormina suits many of our clients very well. This area of Sicily has much to offer besides Taormina and the beaches. Apart from the huge attraction of Mount Etna, try visiting some of the lesser known towns and villages on its flanks. You will be in for some pleasant surprises.

A train line runs about 40m away between the apartment and the beach. Small trains pass occasionally but do not, in our experience, particularly disturb the general magic of the place.
