A beautiful country property dating back to the early 1900s, Rocca Ognibene has been tastefully and lovingly refurbished by its artist owner to create an attractive summer holiday villa. Its mix of comfortable interiors, wide-ranging sea views, panoramic pool and easy access to sandy beaches and local restaurants make it a popular choice with families.

About the Property

Inside: the imposing front door leads into a welcoming hallway with living room to the left and dining room to the right. The living room has large comfortable sofas and an open fireplace for the winter evenings. Behind it is a study and a guest bathroom. The dining room communicates directly with the large kitchen, which leads in turn to the outside kitchen and dining area. Upstairs is a bright living area with large double rooms to left and right. The master double has an en-suite bathroom and private terrace, whereas the second double shares a bathroom with the twin room and a childrens room with bunk bed. The atmosphere and decoration throughout are warm and simple with excellent use of colour and original features of the house.

Outside: enter the grounds and leave your car out of sight to the side of the house (there is space for at least three cars). The house itself is an imposing structure and dominates the well designed grounds.The view from the front of the house takes in vast swathes of the Mediterranean Sea and Monte San Calogero. Continuing on around the house one arrives at the well designed dining and kitchen area covered by a shady pergola. A ramp leads up to the pool area.

There is an industrial area just up the coast from Termini, but it has absolutely no effect on the property (not visible, audible or perceptible in any way) and little on the town.

Exploring the local Area

Rocca Ognibene is situated in the hills above Termini Imerese, a town once known for its large Roman thermal baths (hence "termini"). Termini is a pleasant town with spectacular views of the coast, and evidence of Roman aqueducts are not hard to find. Termini is almost exactly half way between Palermo and Cefalu' and has regular train services to both. It is also well situated for visiting the Madonie mountains, which offer excellent walking and some fascinating small towns which have remained relatively untouched by the modern world. The excellent beach at Lascari is about 20 minutes drive from the house.

"The house was beautiful and in summer must be a great place to stay however I think in late October, the house is too cold in the evenings and the pool completely unusable. The mosquitos were very active and maybe people should be forwarned about this. "
