Overview
Zeffiro is a beautifully designed and stylishly decorated waterfront villa opening directly onto two miles of pristine, undeveloped sandy beach. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s situated at the edge of the archaeological site of Selinunte, one of the most spectacular ancient Greek sites in the Mediterranean. What more can we say? If beaches, views and the rolling sea are what you like best then you may never want to leave.
The Property
Inside: Zeffiro stretches over three floors and offers variations of the same, beautiful panorama from several points in the villa. Design is modern vernacular, with some excellent attention to detail in the furnishings and fittings. On the ground floor is a large living room and dining area, sizeable kitchen. Four stairs take you down to a double bedroom with panoramic sea views and terrace access, a single with terrace access and another double accessed via the single. There are also two bathrooms. on the lower ground floor is a double bedroom, a bathroom, a beach room with shower and several beach toys and a laundry room. There is also a large roof terrace.
Outside: both the living and kitchen areas open onto a large veranda with sun loungers, barbecue area, built-in marble table and seats and fabulous views of the beach and the acropolis of Selinunte. The veranda continues into a small African garden with palm trees. Direct access to 2 miles of sandy beach from the lower ground floor.
thinkAbout: an excellent cooking service is available at the house, guests are invited to dine on the owners’ olive estate nearby and may arrange for meals to be prepared at Zeffiro. The beach is deserted for most of the year, but becomes very crowded in August.
The Area
Zeffiro is the last villa in the sea front holiday community of Triscina. The house is actually just inside the archaeological park of Selinunte, and the views over sand and sea to the temple on the acropolis are breathtaking. One can walk down the beach and directly into the site.
There are several other sandy beaches along this stretch of coast. The nearby towns of Castelvetrano and Mazara del Vallo are full of historical interest, and Mazara in particular has a few good restaurants and pleasant bars. Further afield, Marsala, Trapani, Erice, Segesta and the like offer a huge choice of places to visit.
