The following detail from clause 12 of our booking conditions explains the purpose of the credit card guarantee.

"...We reserve the right to invoice you or charge your credit card the total amount of the security deposit pledged by you in the “credit card guarantee” section of the order form in respect of the cost of any damage or bills incurred by you that remain unpaid at the time of your departure from the accommodation or other service concerned..."
If you do cause any damage at the property, we ask that you inform us straight away so that we can assist you in agreeing a reasonable reimbursement. Please note that this does NOT apply to normal breakages such as the odd plate or glass that could reasonably be put down to normal useage or wear and tear.
