International School arrives in Palermo
A very exciting development for the city of Palermo is the foundation of the International School of Palermo (ISP), with teaching in English and plans to carry students through to the qualification of International Baccalaureate.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers high quality programmes of international education to a worldwide community of schools. There are more than 706,000 IB students at 2,595 schools in 134 countries.
This superb initiative puts Palermo on the map of cities offering an international education, and makes this beautiful city an even more attractive destination for Internationally minded parents.
International School of Palermo (ISP) launched in 2008 in partnership with the International School of Milan. With an initial intake of 22 little “pioneers” making up 2 classes: the Kindergarten and the Transition.
The core programmes are taught in English by highly qualified teachers from English speaking countries, and one hour each day of Italian ensures children a seamless integration within the local context.
The curriculum currently follows the UK progamme, and ISP is working to become an IB World School by introducing the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organisation making it the first IB World School in Italy south of Rome, and opening a world of possibility for the beautiful city of Palermo.
ISP is set in its own premisis within the CEI School in the centre of Palermo. CEI offers excellent sporting and recreation facilities, and a series of extra curricula activities are available.
Enrolment is now open for the following classes for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years:
