Skiing in Sicily on God's own mountain!

The God in question is Hephaestus and the mountain is, of course, Mount Etna. The bright white of the glistening snow fizzing and swooshing under your skis, the cloudless blue sky above, the warming winter sun on your back, and the breezy thrill of effortless speed -  all sounds like a fairly normal skiing experience. However, two elements are missing from the Sicilian skiing experience....

Recipe of the month: "Pistachio pie"

Lying on the western flanks of Mount Etna is the small town of Bronte. It is famous for two things: Admiral Lord Nelson was the Duke of Bronte (a title bestowed on him by King Ferdinand I), and delicious pistachios, which have recently been granted DOP status (denominazione di origine protetta). Sicily is the only place pistachios grow in Italy and so it follows that they are a greatly popular ingredient in all kinds of Sicilian dishes, including pasta sauces, fillings for ravioli, ice-cream, biscuits and, this week's recipe, pistachio pie! It's delicious and if you don't believe me, just ask Andrea, our Sales and Operations Manager (in the picture).....

thinkSicily talk strategy in the lap of luxury....

Last weekend, all 14 of the Think Sicily team, including several new faces, descended on the exceedingly pleasant and civilised surroundings of L'Olmo. Strategy meetings were on the agenda but, inevitably, L'Olmo worked its hedonistic charm on even the most Stakhanovite members of our group. Thus, blessed with blue skies and temperatures in the 20s, a motion was passed to carry out research into the charms of Taormina, catamaran trips up the Ionian Riviera from Catania to Aci Trezza, local viticultural produce and the truly fabulous cuisine of our hosts...... All of which we thoroughly and unanimously recommend you try!
