thinkSicily clients get more!

thinkSicily has more "on-the-ground" knowledge about Sicily than anyone. We know it like the "inside of our pockets" (as they say in Italian) and this is evident from the information our clients receive: a comprehensive Think Sicily guide to the island's major attractions, our very own map of Sicily, a "House Pack" for the rented property, detailed, constantly updated directions, restaurant recommendations, ideas for excursions from each property and lots of handy tips for getting the most out of this most fascinating island. Book thinkSicily, book the experts!

The best wine in Italy? Well, one of them.....

Last week at the prestigious "Les Citadelles du Vin" competition in Bordeaux, Francesco Spadafora's "Sole dei Padri" Syrah 2004 IGT won not only a Trophée Citadelles but was also voted best Italian wine in the competition.  Produced at Virzi, one of our wineries, this intensely purple Syrah has rich, incisive aromas of fruits of the forest, while to the taste is structurally full-bolied and perfectly balanced. Don't take my word for it, though.... book a few days at Virzi, let Francesco tell you all about it and taste it at source!

One favourite in Palermo, which you can buy ready made in the street markets, uses green beans, boiled potatoes, tomatoes, basil and baked onion. This month's recipe, however, is a true fusion of ingredients that epitomise the Mediterranean.....

Noto Cathedral - reaching for the skies once more

Noto Cathedral has finally been brought back to its original glory. Ten long years after its dome was destroyed in an earthquake, the Cathedral was officially reopened last week. Political and church leaders flocked to pay their respects and to admire the brilliant work of the master craftsmen who succeeded in rebuilding the dome using the same materials that were originally used over 200 years ago.

The south-east of Sicily.......

Beaches, Baroque and villas for every occasion!

The south-east of Sicily is fast becoming one of the island's most popular areas. With its unspoilt hinterland criss-crossed by dry-stone walls, its vast stretches of sandy beaches, the extraordinary Baroque Valle di Noto, Siracusa, the ancient capital of Magna Grecia and a host of other attractions, you will never run out of things to see and do.

Another good reason to visit this area is the fantastic range of thinkSicily villas dotted around. Stylish sea-front houses, elegant villas with pools, typical stone farmhouses with breathtaking views: the choice is yours and there is something for everyone
