thinkSicily in Sicily....

Over the weekend of 3rd November the Think Sicily team descended en masse to Il Ferrarolo for our annual meeting, a mix of business and pleasure. Activities included a  lesson in bread-making, a hearty dinner in the Nebrodi mountains, a visit to the Sanctuary and Greek-Roman archaeological site at Tindari and a walk on the amazing tongue of sand just below! All things that we strongly recommend!!

Couples offer extended - get up to 40% off

Due to popular demand and the great success of our couples offer, we have decided to extend it into 2007. And so, from January to the end of March, couples will once more be able enjoy the space and freedom offered by our larger properties at a fraction of the normal price.

The Black Madonna, a tongue of sand and a Greek site....

Driving along the Palermo-Messina motorway between Capo d'Orlando and Milazzo you will undoubtedly notice what seems to be a large church perched on a rock high above the sea. This is the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna of Tindari, a place of pilgrimage but also the site of an ancient Greek town and a natural wonder! Recipe of the month: Schiacciata alla Siciliana

Schiacciata, from the Italian word "schiacciare" - to squash, is an extremely tasty snack, a cross between a calzone pizza and a hot sandwich. Traditionally a peasant dish, like pizza, the "schiacciata" is simple to prepare and can be stuffed with whatever filling most takes your fancy. It could also be a great surprise for guests dropping by for an aperitif..... Go to recipe >>

Pure bliss ......

Property of the month: Villa San Tommaso

Originally the old oil press, winery and watch tower of an 18th Century aristocratic estate, Villa San Tommaso is now a truly top-of-the-range Think Sicily property. The atmosphere is one of peace, tranquility and meditation, extremely fitting since the old estate was also home to a Carmelite convent. The beautifully designed gardens, featuring a wide selection of Mediterrean flowers, shrubs and trees, including lemon, orange, apricot, mulberry, apricot and fig trees, also hark back to the essentially agricultural function of the estate.

With its delightful pool, its superb interiors, its views over the olive orchards of the Anapo valley and its vicinity to Siracusa, one of Sicily's most fascinating towns (just a 10-minute drive away), we are sure that Villa San Tommaso is destined to become a huge favourite with Think Sicily clients.
