Villas that have it all - our thinkExquisite range

If you were to close your eyes and summon up images of the "perfect villa", you would probably be imagining something similar to the villas in our thinkExquisite range.

While they all have a unique sense of style, full service, fabulous private pools and sublime views there is also something intangible, something that it is hard to put your finger on, that makes them extraspecial.

Quite simply, not only do they "have it all", but they also have something else!

To Rome or death! - Garibaldi in Sicily

Goethe famously wrote that "without seeing Sicily it is impossible to understand Italy - Sicily is the key to everything." It is likely that Garibaldi thought along similar lines when he chose to begin the unification of Italy from Sicily. The so-called "hero of two worlds" disembarked in Marsala on 11th May 1860 with just 1,000 men in tow (hence the expression Grazie Mille). Not a shot was fired, for Garibaldi had been extremely cunning.....

Recipe of the month: "Farsumagru""

Farsumagru, (falsomagro in Italian) is one of Sicily's most traditional meat dishes. Its origins date back to the French master chefs who were brought over to cook for the local aristocracy in the 1800s. Translated literally as "false lean" this meat roll looks, at first glance, quite ordinary. When cut open, however, the rich mix of delicious ingredients stuffed inside becomes evident, causing diners to gasp with surprise.......

Condé Nast Traveller Readers Awards 2007

Our clients’ views are very important to us and we are always interested to read or hear what they have to say. We were recently extremely pleased to discover that readers of “Condé Nast Traveller” voted Think Sicily the villa rental company with the best “on the ground support”. In the same readers’ survey, we were voted 5th best company overall, the highest ranking of any local specialist villa operator.

Castles in the sky? No......the real thing!

Al Jafar - the finest villa for rent in western Sicily....

It is said that an Englishman's home is his castle. This being the case, Al Jafar should provide the perfect holiday retreat for anyone hailing from England. We wouldn't, however, dream of limiting this wonderful property to just one nationality!

As the name suggests, the castle is of Arabic origin and was initially the residence of the Emir Jafar (989-1035), a patron of the arts and sciences who is regarded by historians as being the "Lorenzo the Magnificent" of the Arabic Renaissance in Sicily.

It is hard to describe the sheer beauty, charm and sense of history of Al Jafar and even photos can not do it justice. Only by spending time there will you truly be able to understand why we say that it is quite simply the most desirable rental property in the west of Sicily.

So, as the original owner might have said, "ahlan wa sahlan" - welcome and make yourself at home......
