A word of warning, though: our larger properties are already selling fast for 2007 so don't leave it too late! Two-family properties >>

Nelson in Sicily

1798 was a decisive year for England in their long-running battle against Napoleon. Nelson scored a famous victory over the French in the Battle of the Nile and was given a Baronetcy. Recipe of the month: Scaloppine al Marsala

The town of Marsala is best known for its homonymous wine, first produced by the Englishman John Woodhouse in 1773. As with most wines, Marsala is also used in the kitchen and gives a delicate sweetness to a great many dishes.

This month's recipe is for escalopes in a Marsala sauce. It is very quick and easy to prepare and will bring a little Sicilian sunshine to your table. Go to recipe >>

Property of the month: L'Alloro

10 years ago, the old town centre of Palermo was run down, unlit and unfrequented by the majority of the local population. More recently, however, a great many bars, restaurants and craft shops have opened, aristocratic palazzi, churches and residences have been restored and people have moved back, giving the area a new vivacity and a new buzz.

L'Alloro is a perfect example of the old town renaissance, a beautifully restored top-floor apartment in a 16th Century palazzo. Furnished in original art nouveau style with a panoramic roof terrace and stylish, modern bathrooms, L'Alloro is the perfect place for those wishing to spend a weekend break or a longer period discovering Palermo, a city brimming with architectural beauty, history and culinary delights.
