Villa San Tommaso

Villa San Tommaso was originally an old oil press, winery and watch tower of an 18th Century aristocratic estate.

The entire estate, which until 1843 was also home to a Carmelite convent, was bought by a local notary from the Marquis Grimaldi di Terresena in 1860. The present owners bought and converted what is now Villa San Tommaso in 1994.

The property is traversed by an ancient Greek aqueduct and the view is one that the ancient Greeks would have certainly found familiar: olive trees, gentle hills and the fertile banks of the River Anapo.

The atmosphere is one of peace, tranquility and meditation and the beautifully designed gardens, featuring a wide selection of Mediterranean flowers, shrubs and trees, including lemon, orange, apricot, mulberry, apricot and fig trees, hark back to the essentially agricultural role of the estate.
